Tally checks for updates from the Tally menu and installs them from inside the app. It never updates, restarts or downloads while you are streaming or recording.
Tally works offline with the templates and fonts already installed. You need a connection to sign in, to download content packs and to stream.
Content packs download on first launch with progress, retry and a checksum check. The starter packs and 15 font families are free on every plan. Pro template packs arrive automatically when your plan includes them.
Standard streams to 1 destination at a time. Pro and Studio stream to several at once, and can send the Stream 16:9 and Phone 9:16 pictures to different destinations.

Ask Tally is an AI agent that builds slides and layouts from your prompt. It is included in Studio and uses your own xAI API key, so xAI bills that usage to your xAI account. You review every slide before it is applied.
Stream keys and API keys live in your Mac's keychain, not in your project files. The Control API listens on your own Mac only (127.0.0.1).
